Before & after. Radiator restoration for a large project.

Before & after. Radiator restoration for a large project.

Twenty two radiators removed from a historic house 200 miles away arrived on pallets in October. The rads, mostly four columns, looked tired and were definitely in need of some TLC.

Thankfully most tested fine i.e. they were watertight both before and after shot-blasting. David repaired a couple of the longer ones. Plenty of coats of off-white paint and they looked really smart.

Here they are all ready for the long journey back to their seaside home.

Reclaimed radiators was pleased to turn this job around in a little over four weeks, a week ahead of schedule.

Oops, radiator, you seem to be leaking!

Careful transport of original radiators is so important – this poor 2 column arrived in a VW Golf (!) and subsequently failed it’s pressure test. In the second photo you can see it taken apart for repair. The third photo is a fully restored 2 column radiator.

Reclaimed radiators have many useful functions – how about drying home grown chillis as a starter for ten?

Reclaimed Radiators at Leigh Court – Bristol

We’ve just been commissioned to supply some orginal cast iron radiators for prestigious venue Leigh Court just outside Bristol.  Leigh Court is a Grade II* listed mansion house built in 1814 from Bath stone. Externally, it follows the graceful Palladian architectural style, while inside the bold Greek Revival style is complemented by striking 19th century decor.

A gratuitous Christmas-themed radiator shot – Leigh Court, Bristol!

It has become one of Bristol’s premier venues for corporate and private events and weddings. Leigh Court also offers serviced office space to local businesses.

This is a really exciting project for us, and we’ve succeeded in sourcing some highly unusual sizes to match the existing cast iron radiators in the Great Hall pictured below.
